Basement Cleanout Service in Conyers

We clear basements to bare concrete: waterlogged boxes, worn furniture, dead freezers and scraps left from earlier remodels. The crew hauls it all up the stairs, guards your walls and floors along the way, and sweeps before leaving.

What a basement cleanout involves

A basement collects what nobody wanted to decide about. Over the years it fills with furniture from an earlier move, boxes of paperwork, broken exercise gear, and parts left behind by whoever last worked on the house. We sort it with you, haul off what goes, and leave the space open enough to inspect, repair or use again.

Older houses make this harder than it looks. Stairs are often steep and narrow with a low header at the bottom, the only exterior door may be a short bulkhead, and the framing above can be undersized for anything heavy. We plan every carry around those limits so nothing gets wedged, dropped or dragged across old treads.

Clearing the room also tends to reveal things. Once the boxes are gone you can see water staining on block walls, rusted support posts, or wiring that was never meant to be permanent. We point out what we notice so you can decide who to call next.

What we take care of downstairs

Damp and mildewed items
Boxes, carpet scraps and pad that have soaked up moisture turn heavy and come apart in your hands. We bag or wrap them so they make it up the stairs whole and don't drop debris through the house.
Retired appliances
Basements often hold chest freezers, dehumidifiers, washers and old water heaters. We don't disconnect anything still plumbed or wired, so please have those shut off and capped ahead of time. Our Appliance Removal page covers bigger single items too.
Bulky furniture
Sofas, sectionals and dressers brought down years ago may not fit back up. When a piece can't make it through the stairwell, we check with you before dismantling it.
Old remodel scraps
Leftover paneling, drop-ceiling tiles, old trim and bags of drywall pieces from past projects. If a renovation is underway now, our Construction Debris service suits it better.
Sweeping when we're done
Once the final load leaves, we sweep so the slab, walls and long-hidden corners are visible.

When it's time to empty the basement

  • A musty odor that lingers

Wet paper and fabric give mildew something to grow on. A dehumidifier can't do much while that material stays on the floor.

  • The panel or water heater is blocked

Open access to the electrical panel, shutoffs and furnace matters for safety and repairs. A plumber or electrician shouldn't have to dig through boxes first.

  • Water has gotten in before

After a hard rain or a sump pump failure, things sitting on the floor draw water up. Clearing them lets the room dry out and shows where the water comes from.

  • A sale or estate is underway

Buyers and inspectors need to see the floor and foundation walls. Clearing the basement early keeps it from slowing the sale.

How a basement cleanout is priced

The price depends mainly on how much truck room your things need and the labor to bring them out. Basements take more labor since everything goes up a flight of stairs. After we see the space, we give you the full price upfront.

How much is down there

More truck space means a higher price. A basement that's partly full costs less than one stuffed from wall to wall.

Stairs and the way out

Steep, tight or turning stairs slow down each trip. A walkout door or a wide bulkhead speeds things up.

How heavy and how worn

Soaked materials, old cast-iron items and loaded freezers weigh a lot and need extra care to move.

Pieces to dismantle

Furniture that must be broken down to fit the stairwell takes more time.

How the cleanout goes

  1. 1

    Look around and quote

We check the amount, the stairs and the route out, then set upfront pricing with no hidden fees before we lift anything. The estimate is free with no obligation.

  2. 2

    Cover the path

Runners go down from the basement door to the exit, and we pad railings and narrow corners. Old plaster chips easily, so we take the turns with care.

  3. 3

    Sort, then carry up

You point out the keepers. We stack them clear of the stairs and bring everything else up to the truck, starting with heavy items while the way is open.

  4. 4

    Last look and sweep

We go through the room with you, make sure nothing you wanted got loaded, and sweep the floor.

Common basement cleanout questions

Can you get a sofa up my stairs if I'm not sure it fits?

Most of the time. We measure the stairwell and the top turn before moving it. If it won't make it, we can dismantle it, and we always check with you first.

Are there basement items you won't haul?

Fuels, solvents and some chemicals need special disposal, so they don't go on our truck. Let us know on the call what's stored down there and we'll say what we can take and what needs a different route.

Should everything be sorted before you come?

No need. Knowing your keepers helps, but we can sort with you that day. Plenty of people only decide once items are pulled out where they can see them.

Who comes into my home?

Our own crew handles the job. We are enrolled in E-Verify, which checks that everyone we hire is authorized to work in the United States.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day and next-day service available, based on our schedule when you call. Big basements can take all day, and we'll let you know that in advance.
