Furniture Removal in Conyers

We remove the sofas, sleeper beds, dressers and recliners you are done with, and we plan each carry around narrow hallways, tight stair turns and old trim. You get the room back and your floors and walls stay the way they were.

What furniture removal covers, and when to call us

Furniture removal is for pieces too heavy, bulky or awkward to move on your own: a sectional, a solid wood armoire, a sleeper sofa with a steel pull-out frame, an old hide-a-bed, a waterbed frame or a set of bunk beds. We lift it, carry it out of your home and load it on our truck. You do not need to empty drawers into bags, rent anything or recruit friends.

Older houses make this job harder than it looks. Interior doors are often 28 or 30 inches wide instead of 32 or 36, stairways turn at a landing, and many banisters were added or repaired decades ago and are held with a few finish nails. Furniture that went in before a remodel sometimes will not come out the same way. We look at the route first, then decide whether a piece leaves whole, leaves on its side or leaves in parts.

If you are clearing a whole room or a house full of mixed items, our junk removal service or a basement cleanout may fit better. For refrigerators, washers and other machines, see appliance removal.

What you get with every job

  1. 01

    We measure the path first

Before lifting, we measure doorways, stair width and any turn at a landing. Those numbers tell us whether a door comes off its hinges, legs come off, or a piece travels upright.

  2. 02

Taking pieces apart to spare your walls

We unbolt bed frames, bunk beds, entertainment centers and sectionals at their brackets. A sleeper sofa is the heaviest everyday piece because of its folding steel frame, and pulling that frame out first makes the carry much lighter.

  3. 03

    Guarding floors and trim

Door frames and banister posts get padding, and hardwood gets moving blankets, since older homes often have original oak with a thin finish that scratches easily. We never drag anything across it.

  4. 04

    Loading and hauling away

Every piece goes onto our truck and off your property in the same visit. There's nothing to leave at the curb and no bulk pickup day to wait for.

  5. 05

Donating and recycling when we can

Solid wood and other usable furniture is set aside for donation if a local outlet accepts it. Metal frames and springs are pulled out for recycling rather than heading straight to the landfill.

  6. 06

    A clean spot left behind

A couch that hasn't moved in years leaves dust, loose change and carpet dents. We sweep or vacuum that area so you can use the room right away.

Signs it is time to have furniture hauled out

  • The piece will not fit through the door

If it came in before the trim was replaced or a wall was added, it may not leave whole. That is a disassembly job, not a muscle job.

  • Sagging frames and broken springs

A couch that dips in the middle usually has a cracked frame rail or failed sinuous springs. Repair rarely costs less than replacement, so most people let it go.

  • Mold, mildew or pest signs

Furniture stored in a damp basement or crawlspace-level room can pick up a musty smell, mold spots or signs of rodents and bed bugs. Those pieces should leave the house rather than move to another room.

  • New furniture is on the way

Delivery crews often will not take the old set. Clearing it before the truck arrives keeps the new pieces from blocking hallways.

  • Stairs make it a two-person risk

Carrying a dresser down a narrow staircase with a turn is how backs get hurt and plaster gets gouged. That is a good moment to hand it off.

What the visit looks like

  1. 1

You tell us about the furniture on the phone

Let us know which pieces are going, what floor they're on and anything awkward about the way out. We can quote by phone or book a free on-site estimate with no obligation. Same-day and next-day service is available.

  2. 2

We check the path and lock in the price

Once there, we look over the pieces and the route to the truck and give you an upfront price before lifting anything. If it doesn't suit you, we leave and you pay nothing.

  3. 3

    Pad, disassemble, carry

We cushion corners and floors, take off legs, doors or hardware where needed, and bring each piece out. Because our company is enrolled in E-Verify, the people working at your home are confirmed eligible to work in the United States.

  4. 4

    Load up, sweep, leave

It all goes onto the truck, we sweep up, and we look in closets and under beds to be sure nothing got missed.

What changes the price

The price mostly depends on how much truck space your furniture fills and the effort it takes to carry it there. Quotes are upfront with no hidden fees, so what you agree to is what you pay.

How many pieces and how much space
One recliner fills far less of the truck than a whole bedroom set. More pieces make a bigger load.
What it's made of and what it weighs
A solid hardwood dresser, a marble-top table or a sleeper sofa is much heavier than a particleboard or foam piece of equal size.
Stairs and the route out
Upstairs rooms, basement steps, cramped landings and a long distance to the truck all mean more time carrying.
Taking pieces apart
Furniture that has to be disassembled to fit a narrow doorway adds labor, more so with older pieces held by glued joints or rusted bolts.

Furniture removal questions

Do I need to empty dressers and cabinets first?

Yes, please remove anything you want to keep. Empty drawers also make the piece lighter and safer to carry down stairs. If the drawers hold items you want gone too, tell us and we will include them in the quote.

Will you take a sleeper sofa or a mattress?

Yes. Sleeper sofas are one of our most common pickups because the steel pull-out mechanism makes them so heavy. Mattresses and box springs go with the bed frame or on their own.

How do you keep from damaging older walls and floors?

We measure first, pad door frames and banister posts, and lay blankets on hardwood. Plaster walls in older homes crack and chip more easily than drywall, so we take legs and doors off pieces instead of forcing them through a tight turn.

Can you take furniture from a room upstairs or in the basement?

Yes. We carry from any floor, including finished basements with narrow stairs. Tell us about the stairs when you call so we can plan the crew size.

Do you serve towns outside Conyers?

We remove furniture throughout the Conyers area, including Covington, Lithonia, Stonecrest, Snellville and Loganville. The Service Areas page lists the full range.
